About the Role
A reputable automotive manufacturing company in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC Milling machines and Wire cutter to manufacture components
- Develop Prototypes, verify tests/trials and Manufacture tools to required specifications.
- Solve problems and suggest solutions to machining
- Perform any other assigned reasonable duties
- Maximize machine utilization and minimize downtime (Machine Uptime)
- Optimize CNC programs to reduce cycle times and improve productivity (Programming Efficiency)
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity (Continuous Improvement)
- Quickly identify and resolve technical issues with CNC machines and programs (Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving)
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, and maintain a clean and organised workspace (Safety and Compliance)
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of CNC Machines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Technical drawing software packages, e.g. Mastercam, viscam , AutoCAD, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of Grinders, lathes & milling machines
- Experience on Fanuc controls (milling machines)
- Master cam experience is essential (Min. 3 years)
- Min. 3 years experience operating CNC milling machines
- Ability to use basic measuring instruments (i.e. Vernier, micrometre, dial indicator)
- Understanding and ability to read engineering drawings
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Programming skills in G-code & Mastercam
