About the Role
The Store Manager at The Crescent (Umhlanga) – New Store will be responsible for ensuring overall store profitability and maintaining compliance with the brand values of Dis-Chem Pharmacies. This role requires a strong retail management background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with budget preparation and maintenance within the store.
- Allocate store funds and define financial objectives.
- Maintain statistical and financial records.
- Manage banking functions related to the store, including making bank deposits and filling change requirements.
- Optimize store profitability by participating in daily operational and sales activities.
- Oversee pricing and stock control.
- Ensure all expense-related items are controlled and managed within budget.
- Manage and ensure the daily ordering of stock and maintain correct stock levels.
- Oversee the preparation, coordination, and management of stock takes on a bi-annual basis.
- Investigate and rectify negative GP values in the store.
- Minimise, investigate, and report on business unit negative stock on hand.
- Analyse dormant stock reports for heads of department to investigate and rectify.
- Ensure physical stock in all storage locations balances with the inventory ledger in SAP.
- Manage goods in transit as directed by standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with head of departments to ensure set sales targets are met.
- Coordinate with other stores to share knowledge, plan promotional activities, or achieve goals.
- Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry and monitor local competitors.
Requirements
- Grade 12/ Matric
- Minimum of 5 years Retail Store Management experience
- Computer literate
- MS Office
Qualifications
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Management or BCom Degree (advantageous)
- Retail Management Diploma or relevant Commercial qualification (advantageous)
