About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our top fine dining team in Cape Town, where you will be responsible for overseeing product development for menus and operations across multiple kitchen locations. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a crucial role in driving quality production standards and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement menu strategies to drive sales and revenue growth
- Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and plating
- Manage inventory, ordering, and supply chain logistics to ensure efficient service delivery
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to develop and implement effective customer service standards
- Conduct regular quality control checks to maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Lead training and development initiatives for kitchen staff to improve skills and knowledge
Requirements
- At least 5 – 8 years experience as a Senior Chef in a similar managerial role and work environment
- Proven work methods and systems to drive efficiency, cleanliness, kitchen planning & organisation
- Sound working knowledge of Point of Sale Programmes for Front of House & Back of House Controls
- Excellent computer and admin skills
- Natural tendency for training and developing others
- A team-focused individual with effective communication & delegation skills
Qualifications
- Formal education in Culinary Arts or related field (e.g. Bachelors degree)
