Job Description

An experienced General Manager with a distinguished background in luxury hotel operations is required for an exclusive private bush estate in the Skukuza region. The successful candidate will serve as the primary custodian of the property, ensuring the delivery of world-class service standards within a wilderness environment. The objective is to provide a seamless, five-star experience for international homeowners and discerning guests while upholding the operational and ecological integrity of the estate. Key Responsibilities: Executive Operations: Direct all daily estate functions, including concierge services, housekeeping, and comprehensive facilities maintenance. Stakeholder Diplomacy: Serve as the principal liaison for high-net-worth homeowners and the Board of Directors, ensuring a balance between individual requirements and estate bylaws. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance team to ensure the functionality of essential services, including road networks, security systems, water treatment, and power utilities, ensuring uninterrupted service in a remote location. Financial Stewardship: Assume full P&L responsibility, encompassing budget forecasting, levy administration, and the oversight of capital expenditure projects. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team to ensure the consistent delivery of premium service standards. Minimum Retirement: 8 to 10+ years of experience in Senior Management within 5-star luxury lodges or ultra-high-end residential estates. A proven track record of reporting to a Board of Directors and managing high-net-worth (HNW) client relations. A Degree or Diploma in Hospitality, Business Management, or Estate Management. Advanced proficiency in P&L management, annual budgeting, and levy administration. Comprehensive knowledge of South African Labor Law and Sectional Title/HOA regulations. Professional experience in maintaining remote infrastructure, including water treatment, solar/power grids, and security fencing. High proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS) and Microsoft Excel. A valid South African Drivers License and the willingness to reside in the Hazyview/Kruger Gate region. FGASA qualifications or significant experience in Nature Reserve/Big 5 environment management. Project Management certification for the oversight of villa renovations or estate capital projects. Experience with advanced estate security protocols and perimeter technology.
