About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing supplier invoices and customer transactions
  • Bank and account reconciliations
  • Managing debtors and creditors
  • Assisting with month-end procedures
  • Capturing and maintaining accurate financial records on Xero
  • Processing journals and maintaining general ledger accuracy
  • Supporting the finance team with administrative and reporting duties

Requirements

About the Role

An established business in Bryanston is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and producing reliable financial information to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing financial processing and reporting using Sage accounting software
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with regulatory requirements
  • Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register
  • Handling debtor transactions and cashbook processing
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
  • Capturing and reviewing financial journals
  • Producing cost analysis and expense reports to support management insight
  • Reviewing trial balances and ensuring accuracy before reporting
  • Compiling monthly management accounts
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules

Requirements

Relevant accounting qualification (Diploma, Degree, or Bookkeeping Certification)

Minimum 5 years experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role

Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software

Solid understanding of VAT, management accounts, and annual financial statements

Experience with reconciliations, accruals (including WIP and GRN), audits, and cash flow forecasting
