About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team in Ladysmith, responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling production to ensure efficient, on-time, and cost-effective delivery of goods. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving company sales turnover and profit targets by meeting customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and control production to ensure goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
- Communicate with all relevant people/departments and coordinate inputs (people, machinery, and processes) to ensure production output and on-time delivery targets are met.
- Pre-plan production, deploy a daily prioritized work schedule to the shop floor, and set, monitor, and review workload schedules in line with plant efficiencies.
- Monitor and review manufacturing operations to ensure correct quality standards.
- Identify plant and equipment that require maintenance and repair by the Maintenance and Tooling Dept.
- Ensure rejected products/non-conformance are rectified as high priority and customers are kept informed accordingly.
- Establish goals and objectives for self and team, implement accordingly, and promote manufacturing best practice and performance standards.
Requirements
- Diploma in Production Management or similar
- Minimum 3-5 years process experience in the manufacturing industry
- ISO working knowledge is essential
- Strong knowledge of raw materials and BOM
- Strong computer skills to document and communicate processes that can be easily followed by internal team members
