Job Description

Responsibilities: Creating & preparing a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients Manage and lead the kitchen staff in head chefs absence Coordinate with our wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies Provides guidance & training to junior kitchen staff members Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards Oversee and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients, including proper dating and quality assurance Improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns Monitor and maintain hygiene and health and safety principles Requirements: Matric Culinary Diploma / Sushi Qualifications Preferably 2 years previous experience in a Sushi Chef role. Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques Ability to work both fast and accurately Leadership and management skills Able to work in a team Basic computer skills (word, excel, outlook) Exceptional customer-service skills Excellent written & oral communication skills Strong organizational skills Attention to detail Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, public holidays, weekends) Ability to work under pressure Creative problem-solving skills
