About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Secretary to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our administration team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support to our professionals and ensuring the smooth operation of our office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and typing pleadings, affidavits, particulars of claim, and court notices
  • Preparing agreements, reports, presentations, and correspondence
  • Managing diaries, deadlines, and general correspondence
  • Screening calls and liaising with clients telephonically
  • Opening files accurately on AJS and capturing time entries
  • Finalising fees, generating invoices, and assisting with collections
  • Assisting with client payment queries and disbursement allocations
  • Preparing and compiling tender documents and submission packs
  • Coordinating business travel bookings and travel claims
  • Registration and archiving of files
  • Providing full administrative support to Directors and professionals

Requirements

  • Matric (immediately available)
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years experience as a Legal Secretary
  • Strong experience drafting and typing pleadings, agreements, and legal documents
  • Dictaphone typing experience
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience capturing and finalising fees on AJS
  • Strong understanding of legal billing processes

  • Formal education/certifications (if applicable)
