Key Responsibilities
- Leadership in Financial Services Support the Head Financial Reporting in the execution of strategies to drive the effective implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) within the financial services industry.
- Track local and global developments affecting the financial services and valuations industry ensuring that SAICA remains at the forefront of the relevant trends in these industries.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration with regulators, policy makers and other stakeholders to influence the development of standards, regulations and policies.
- Leverage data analytics, digital tools, and AI technologies to enhance financial services and valuations offerings to members and decision-making.
- Implement AI-driven tools to enhance communication with stakeholders. These tools can help in drafting personalised messages, scheduling meetings, and even predicting stakeholder responses based on historical data.
- Technical Support and Guidance Develop guidance and thought leadership on financial services and valuations matters.
- Draft technical resources, position papers, and training materials to assist members in complying within the financial services in complying with regulations/standards/policies.
- Respond and/or perform quality assurance review on member queries on financial services and valuation matters.
- Provide tailored advice on emerging challenges and standards.
- Support the Head: Financial Reporting in the development of AI-powered advisory services that provide real-time guidance to members on standards application. This can include chatbots or virtual assistants that can answer queries and provide relevant resources.
- Manage the process of identifying opportunities for developing new technical resources.
- Manage the revision of existing technical resources ensuring that resources remain relevant and up to date.
- Advocacy and Capacity Building Support the Head: Financial Reporting in building capacity among members and stakeholders by delivering workshops, webinars, and training programs on financial services and valuation topics.
- Represent SAICA in national forums, advocating for the South African accountancy profession in global financial services/valuations discussions.
- Implement the financial services stakeholder engagement plan.
- Governance and Compliance Support the Head of Financial Reporting in ensuring that SAICA’s financial service technical activities align with the organisation’s governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
- Provide regular updates to the Head: Financial Reporting on progress, risks, and opportunities in financial reporting.
Requirements
- CA(SA) or AGA(SA) qualification
- Technical/Legal Certification
- Knowledge and understanding of Financial Services legislation
- Registration as a member/associate of SAICA
