An exciting opportunity exists for a Property Accountant to join a structured and fast-paced property finance team. This role is ideal for a confident, driven, and detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives under pressure and enjoys taking ownership of their work.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records across a property portfolio while supporting reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. This position offers excellent exposure to the retail property sector and the opportunity to work closely with both internal teams and landlord stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & General Ledger

• Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts
• Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger
• Prepare trial balances, income statements, and balance sheets
• Assist with variance analysis and reporting commentary

Reconciliations & Transaction Processing

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Reconcile debtor, creditor, and loan accounts
• Process journals and daily accounting transactions
• Ensure financial records are complete and accurate

Compliance, Audit & Cash Flow

• Prepare VAT and statutory returns
• Assist with cash flow monitoring and management
• Support audit processes and prepare required documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Qualifications:

• BCom Accounting or related Finance Degree (Required)

Experience:

• 1-2 years accounting experience
• Previous property accounting experience preferred
• Retail property experience highly advantageous

Skills & Competencies:

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working on B-Sharp advantageous
• Strong reconciliation skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Confident, proactive, and solutions-driven personality
