About the Role
Premium Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Mining Work Planner to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing daily, weekly, and monthly mining plans that drive production efficiency and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly mining plans
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams
- Allocate equipment, labour, and materials efficiently
- Monitor production performance against planned targets
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and mining legislation
- Prepare planning reports and cost forecasts
- Update mine schedules based on geological and operational changes
Requirements
- Strong planning and scheduling skills
- Knowledge of open-pit or underground mining operations
- Understanding of mine design principles
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in mining software (e.g MineSched, Surpac, Deswik, etc.)
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Strong understanding of safety standards
- Diploma or degree in Mining Engineering
- Mine planning certification (advantageous)
- Relevant mining experience (typically 3-5 years)
