A leading global logistics company is seeking a detail?oriented Sales Support Administrator to join their Johannesburg team. This role is essential to the sales function, providing administrative and operational support to Field Sales, Key Account Managers, and Business Development.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with freight forwarding experience who thrives in a fast?paced, structured environment and enjoys enabling sales performance from behind the scenes.
As the Sales Support Administrator, you will act as the backbone of the sales department, ensuring the team has accurate data, documentation, and administrative support to focus on sales execution and client engagement.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: 2+ years in a commercial or sales support role within the freight forwarding / customs clearing industry
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) minimum
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and qualify leads; assign qualified opportunities to sales via CRM
- Maintain CRM accuracy by updating call info, lead status, and cleaning data
- Prepare sales reports (revenue trends, hit rates, pipeline, churn)
- Provide general administrative support and manage office supplies/equipment
- Handle customer inquiries and coordinate responses with sales/operations
- Assist with estimates, costings, rate proposals, and customer documentation
- Coordinate local, regional, and global sales communication campaigns
- Schedule customer meetings, conferences, and manage department calendars
- Monitor sales KPIs and update the performance dashboard
