About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales team in Midrand and drive revenue growth across our mass-market consumer portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in retail sales management, commercial acumen, and analytical ability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Drive execution of pricing, promotions, merchandising, and product launches
  • Analyse sales performance trends and implement corrective action plans
  • Identify opportunities to grow market share within the mass-market segment
  • Manage a large national retail partner relationship
  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement across regions
  • Ensure alignment on sales targets, operational standards, and growth plans
  • Retail Operations Oversight: Conduct regular store visits nationally to assess compliance and performance
  • Oversee stock management, product availability, and merchandising standards
  • Work closely with supply chain and operations to minimise stock-outs
  • Team Leadership & Performance: Lead and manage large, geographically dispersed sales teams (100 staff)
  • Design and optimise commission structures
  • Recruit, onboard, and continuously train high-volume sales agents
  • Address underperformance efficiently and build a culture of accountability

Requirements

  • 8 years retail sales experience in a mass-market consumer environment
  • Minimum 4 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Proven experience managing large teams
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical ability
  • Experience in FMCG, electronics, mobile devices, fashion, or similar sectors
