About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our professional healthcare team in Baileys Muckleneuk. Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Clinical Practice: Deliver high-quality nursing care in line with SANC scope of practice, ensuring a holistic, patient-centred approach aligned with individual care plans.
- Monitor, assess, and respond to patient conditions, ensuring optimal recovery, comfort, and well-being.
- Oversee and support patient hygiene and daily care provided by caregivers.
- Medication & Treatment Management: Administer and manage medication, wound care, and rehabilitation processes in accordance with prescribed treatment plans.
- Ensure availability of required medication and communicate treatment plans effectively with patients and families.
- Risk & Infection Control: Identify, monitor, and manage patient risks while implementing effective prevention strategies.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols in line with national and international standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment.
- Patient Monitoring & Communication: Conduct regular bedside visits, monitor patient progress, and ensure clear communication regarding care, pain management, and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support rehabilitation and overall patient wellness.
- Administration & Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with regulatory requirements and POPIA standards.
- Ensure compliance with SANC registration, facility policies, and healthcare regulations.
- Manage stock, medication control, and documentation processes effectively.
- Team Collaboration & Support: Work closely with nursing managers and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in shift handovers and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Support and guide caregivers, ensuring high standards of care delivery.
- Learning & Development: Engage in continuous professional development, including CPD activities and training programmes.
- Stay updated with current nursing practices, policies, and healthcare advancements.
- Mentor and support colleagues through on-the-job training and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain BLS competence.
- Leadership & Professional Standards: Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and strong ethical conduct at all times.
- Contribute to improving work processes and maintaining high standards of quality and patient safety.
- Remain adaptable, resilient, and effective in a high-pressure, fast-paced healthcare environment.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in General Nursing Care.
- Experience in hospital ward care specifically: Medical, Surgical, and Orthopaedic nursing.
- ICU experience will be advantageous.
- Registered with SANC.
- Sound Knowledge of pharmacology.
- Sound Knowledge of infection control.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Own transport and a valid driver’s license.
