Job Summary

Hire Resolve`s client is in search of a driven and meticulous Junior Quantity Surveyor to become an integral part of their team in Durbanville, Western Cape. As the successful candidate, you will play a pivotal role as the guardian of project budgets, overseeing all costs associated with designated construction projects. You`ll engage in the entire project lifecycle, from initial estimates to final cost reports, meticulously tracking any changes and fluctuations in turnover and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Analyse project drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with project teams to monitor project progress and cost variances.
  • Assist in preparing and evaluating variations and change orders.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate prices.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs and documentation.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections as required.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • A minimum of 1-5 years of experience in a the built environment. 
  • Proficient on Candy CCS. 
  • Must have a valid drivers licence with your own reliable transport and be prepared to travel to project locations. 
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and BuildSmart.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes is desirable.
  • Previous experience or internships in quantity surveying or construction industry is an advantage.
