Job Summary

PBT Group is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst with strong expertise in Quality Assurance (QA) and Data Testing to join a dynamic team in the financial services sector. The successful candidate will work on data migration and validation programmes, focusing on testing and analysing critical datasets to support regulatory and financial reporting requirements. This role includes intensive data analysis, defect resolution, and close collaboration with stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities

Data Testing and Validation:

• Define test plans, use cases, and test scenarios linked to technical data analysis and financial reporting metrics.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for data validation and verification.
• Perform defect analysis, impact analysis of data movements, and tracking of defect resolution.
• Conduct data lineage analysis and identify data discrepancies from source to target systems.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), working closely with stakeholders to document success criteria and manage defect resolution.
• Provide detailed insights into data migration impacts using SQL and advanced Excel.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, inconsistencies, and actionable insights.
• Develop dashboards and reports to track testing progress, defect status, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document critical data elements and reporting requirements.
• Troubleshoot defects through data analysis and communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Engage with senior stakeholders to document requirements and define success criteria.
• Liaise with business and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of data migration and reporting solutions.
• Facilitate discussions to align business processes and outputs with testing outcomes.

Compliance and Governance:

• Ensure all testing and data analysis activities comply with regulatory requirements and enterprise-wide risk management frameworks.
• Adhere to quality assurance frameworks and maintain alignment with organisational policies and standards.

Skills and Competencies

Mandatory Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Product Management, or a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis and Data Testing on large-scale projects.
• High proficiency in SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
• Advanced skills in Excel for dashboard creation, defect analysis, and data impact assessments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven collaboration abilities in cross-functional teams.
• Solid knowledge of quality assurance practices and technical testing frameworks.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with intensive data testing programmes and regulatory/financial reporting (e.g., BA series, General Ledger, Risk Reports Metrics).
• Familiarity with financial and regulatory reporting metrics, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Expertise in using data analysis and visualisation tools.
• Understanding of Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and techniques.

Experience and Industry Background

• 8-10 years of industry experience, with at least:
  • 5+ years in Data Analysis roles.
  • 5+ years of QA/testing experience on data-related projects.
• Banking or financial services industry experience is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues, particularly in data migration scenarios.
