A well established client in East London is looking for a qualified Service Room / Data Centre Technician to join their dynamic team. Key
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain service room and data center systems, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and backup systems. Ensure the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of battery backup systems (UPS). Perform routine checks and monitoring of data center equipment, ensuring uptime and reliability. Work with structured cabling, networking systems, and power management infrastructure. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety protocols. Required Qualifications: National Diploma in Information Technology (IT) or Electrical Engineering. BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification for structured cabling. CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) for networking knowledge and skills. ISO certification for adherence to international standards and best practices. Skills and Experience: Strong technical background with hands-on experience in data center environments. Expertise in configuring and maintaining battery backup (UPS) systems. Proficiency in networking, server management, and IT infrastructure. Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and cooling systems within a data center. Familiarity with data center safety standards and regulatory compliance.
