Job Summary
Minimum requirements for the role: The successful candidate will be a registered nurse (diploma or degree in nursing) with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). Previous nursing experience having worked within a clinical or hospital setting is essential for the role. Previous experience having worked as a registered nurse within a paediatrics clinic or child health setting or related is preferred for the role. Must have strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate must want to work with children and parents as this is a paediatrics practice. Must have strong clinical skills and good computer ability. Experience working with paediatric vaccinations, medical procedures, and child-specific care is preferred. The candidate should be compassionate, empathetic, and patient, especially when interacting with children and their families. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a nurturing and reassuring approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for: High-quality patient care to children, providing them with emotional support and medical assistance within a collaborative environment. Performing baby wellness checks and administering immunisations. Providing compassionate patient care. Collecting patient health history and educating patients. Administering medication and iv drips, and handling wound dressings as prescribed by health professionals. Checking patients health and overseeing clinical requirements. Monitoring patient conditions and vital signs, providing immediate care when necessary. Collaborating with healthcare teams to facilitate seamless patient care and recovery. Educating patients and families on health management, medications, and treatment protocols. Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Adhering to infection control protocols and upholding safety standards at all times. Work closely with the Paediatricians, Practice Manager, Medical Receptionist, and other healthcare staff to ensure a high standard of care and smooth practice operations. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
