Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Plant Fitter. The Technical Plant Fitter for Mobile and Static Crushing Plants within the aggregate crushing industry is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of mechanical systems and components on both mobile and stationary crushing equipment. This role ensures the reliable and efficient operation of crushing plants by conducting scheduled maintenance, diagnosing mechanical faults, and executing repairs to minimize downtime. The Technical Plant Fitter plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, performance, and longevity of the equipment, adhering to all safety regulations and industry standards while supporting operational productivity. Description Be of sober habits due to requirement of being ready to attend to breakdowns when required. Ability to work extended hours when required and occasionally travel out of town. Proficiency in welding (CO2 & ARC), cutting, and grinding. Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams. Experience in troubleshooting faults on stop/start buttons. Experience working with 24w and 32w contactors and breakers. Experience with plate work on chutes, crushers, and liners. Ability to test tolerances on crushers, including clearances between main shafts and bushes. Extensive experience with various types of crushing plant (JAW, Cone, VSI, Shaker Screens). Expertise in crusher repairs, particularly for brands such as METSO, TELSMITH, OSBORNE, SANDVIK, TEREX, FINLAY, TRIO, and GAMAKATSU, including: Brass bushes n crushers Pinin gears Tlerances of crushers Crusher specificatins Extensive experience in dismantling and re-establishing crushing plants, particularly mobile units, from one site to another. Knowledge of concrete works for pouring bases for structures. Ability to perform accurate levelling. Minimum Requirements Trade Test Boilermaker/Fitter Qualification with Red Seal. Fluent communication in English and Afrikaans/Xhosa, both verbal and written. Valid driver`s license and own transport. Must be physically fit, and able to pass an OHS medical Clear criminal record. 5-7 years experience
