Job Summary
Our client is looking for a Relationship Manager to join their team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and growing the Corporate Division within the region by promoting Shariah-compliant financial products and services. This role involves identifying customer needs, managing finance applications, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and financial regulations. The successful candidate will also oversee reporting, staff management, and strategic planning while representing the organization at industry functions. Travel within the region is required.
Responsibilities:
- Identify customer needs through client visits and assess financial requirements.
- Request financial information and supporting documentation for finance transactions.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Credit Analyst to process applications.
- Address queries from the Executive Credit Committee to facilitate approvals.
- Maintain proactive client management, communication, and minimal client complaints.
- Ensure timely allocation of fees and manage clients in SM category below 5% of advances.
- Maintain insurance compliance below 5% of advances and oversee covenant lists.
- Manage NFDs proactively and ensure arrears remain below 1% of gross advances.
- Complete trade and asset facility reviews before the review date.
- Oversee employee performance, recruitment, and annual appraisals within the Corporate Branch.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory staff leave policies.
- Act as a relief in the absence of the Corporate Manager, managing portfolios and administrative tasks.
- Attend management meetings such as Exco and ECC as required.
- Respond to internal and external audit queries.
- Assist in preparing the Corporate Divisions annual budget and strategic plan.
- Represent the company at industry functions and events.
Requirements:
- A degree in Commerce or Finance.
- FAIS accreditation.
- Valid driver`s license.
- Minimum of 5 years of banking experience (finance/credit), including 23 years in management.
- Experience in an Islamic banking environment is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of Shariah principles, banking products, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of financial statement analysis, general accounting principles, and statutory requirements.
- Familiarity with the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) and Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking systems.
