Our client who is based in Addo and operating in the Agri / Citrus sector, is currently looking to employ an Area Procurement Manager (Citrus).
Candidates must have an intimate knowledge of the Citrus industry and the Citrus farming community in the Addo / Kirkwood area.
Main purpose of the position:
- This individual need to have an intimate knowledge of the Citrus growing business, know the producers in the area and understand the culture and ways of working very well.
- The purpose of this position will be to expand the fresh fruit sourcing footprint of the company in the north and obtain bigger volumes.
- This position will be responsible for the procurement of fresh citrus fruit.
- The fruit will be procured from growers in the Eastern Cape and then exported to customers across the world.
Requirements:
- 5 years experience in the Citrus Industry.
- Matric however a tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
- Computer literate.
- Fluent in English and in Afrikaans.
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
- Sound knowledge of citrus quality processes and systems.
- Sound knowledge of citrus pack house processes and system.
- Sound knowledge of citrus packhouse logistics and planning systems.
- Basic understanding of citrus farming processes.
