Hire Resolve’s client, a leading mining company, is currently seeking a skilled Assistant Logistics Manager to join their team in Kuruman, Northern Cape.

Requirements

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
• Degree or Diploma in Logistics or Related Field
• Valid Drivers License

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations related to bulk and container shipments.
• Process payments to service providers, including ocean freight, inland transport, inspection fees, warehousing costs, etc., as directed by the General Manager.
• Maintain and update shipment records in the companys commodity database.
• Participate in planning and executing the shipping schedule in alignment with production, purchasing, and sales timelines.
• Oversee inventory control and monitoring across various commodities and locations.
• Coordinate with inspection companies to arrange weight and quality surveys.
• Communicate with agents and stevedores regarding cargo loading and unloading operations.
• Perform laytime calculations and handle settlements for dispatch/demurrage in bulk cargo, as well as detention, port storage, and claims for container shipments.
• Investigate claims and recommend preventive measures.
• Inspect cargo conditions, supervise cargo handling during loading or discharging, and liaise with ports, warehouses, agents, and surveyors.
• Undertake business trips and manage any ad-hoc assignments as requested by the General Manager or the company.
