Job Summary
Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration or eligibility to register.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an ICU, critical care, or high-dependency unit.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent). For internationally qualified nurses, qualifications will be assessed for equivalency to Australian standards.
- Advanced clinical assessment skills and experience in managing acutely ill patients.
- Proficiency in ventilator management, haemodynamic monitoring, and life support interventions.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments.
- English language proficiency as per AHPRA requirements (e.g., IELTS, OET, PTE Academic).
- Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing is highly desirable.
- Registered with SANC.
- Willing and able to relocate to Australia.
Documents Required for Immigration:
- Valid Passport.
- Degree/Diploma, including full transcript, with English as the primary language of instruction.
- Official document showing clinical hours completed during tertiary education.
- SANC certificate and proof of renewal.
- Proof of English proficiency, demonstrating English as the main language of instruction in high school, tertiary education, and at the current workplace.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive and specialised care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Perform continuous patient monitoring, including ventilator support, haemodynamic assessment, and early identification of clinical deterioration.
- Administer high-risk medications, IV therapies, and advanced life support in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Respond rapidly to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with intensivists, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Operate and maintain specialised medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
- Implement infection control measures and maintain strict adherence to ICU protocols.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during critical illness and recovery.
- Maintain accurate and legally compliant patient records and documentation.
- Supervise and mentor junior nurses, enrolled nurses, and other healthcare staff within the ICU setting.
