Our client, a leading medical practice in Bloemfontein, is urgently seeking a Lung Function Technician or EEG Technician to join their team.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in Lung Function or EEG technology
• HPCSA registration (Health Professions Council of South Africa)
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Strong attention to detail and patient care

Required Skills:

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in operating lung function testing equipment (spirometry, plethysmography, diffusion capacity tests) or EEG machines
• Ability to interpret and analyze test results accurately
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to respiratory and neurological conditions
• Understanding of HPCSA regulations and adherence to professional standards
• Experience with calibration and maintenance of diagnostic equipment

Patient-Care Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain procedures and comfort patients
• Ability to work with patients of all ages, including children and elderly individuals
• Attention to infection control protocols and patient safety
• Sensitivity and compassion when dealing with anxious patients

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

• Attention to detail and accuracy when recording test results
• Ability to identify abnormalities and escalate concerns to a physician
• Strong critical-thinking skills to troubleshoot equipment issues

Administrative and Organizational Skills:

• Competence in record-keeping and maintaining patient reports
• Ability to manage multiple patients efficiently
• Familiarity with medical software for data entry and reporting
