Job Purpose:
The Fitter is responsible for the assembly, repair, manufacture, and servicing of underground mining equipment and components, ensuring all work meets required quality standards and customer specifications. The role involves meticulous assembly, testing, and adjustment of machines and components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·        Assemble machines, conduct all component tests, and fully adjust machines prior to delivery.
·        Repair, assemble, manufacture, and service underground mining equipment and components within quality standards.
·        Integrate quality assurance into all work by ensuring that new, repaired, or rebuilt machines meet customer specifications.
·        Carefully strip, clean, inspect, reassemble, and test components in accordance with OEM specifications and company quality standards.
·        Ensure proper assembly and adjustment of machines to OEM standards.
 
Assembly Responsibilities:
·        Tanks: Diesel, Hydraulic, Flushing, Battery Box
·        Major Components: Axles, Transmissions, Torque Converters, Engines
 
Fitting Responsibilities:
·        Tanks: Diesel, Hydraulic, Flushing, Battery Box
·        Major Components: Axles, Transmissions, Torque Converters, Engines, Booms, Buckets
·        Sub-components: Drivelines, Linkages, Cylinders, Intake, Exhaust, Hoses, Wheels
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
·        Qualified Fitter
·        Minimum 3 years’ experience in machine assembly
·        Computer literate; proficient with MS Office
·        Knowledge of the mining industry
 
SOFT SKILLS:
·        Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
·        Strong conflict management and problem-solving skills
·        Ability to work well under pressure and independently
