We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator, to assist in monitoring our vehicle progress on route, to manage drivers and to execute administrative tasks associated with these responsibilities. This role is specifically focussed on our Refrigerated Transport business unit. You are a organised, goal orientated person, who enjoys working in a team and open-space environment. You are comfortable with managing drivers and with receiving load instructions from the Logistics Planners. Your areas of responsibility: Issue loading instructions to drivers and ensure that the correct loading sequence is followed Monitor the loading progress, ensure that the products are loaded correctly and that the load is secured Monitor the on-route progress of the vehicles and coordinate any non-conformance with the Logistics Planners Manage the sleeping points and breaks of drivers, along with any requests pertaining to personal affairs Coordinate with the off-loading points and clients, to ensure the products are successfully off-loaded and that the client is updated throughout the process Debrief each driver upon arrival in the depot, verifying that the correct procedures were followed and that their paperwork is up to date Debrief drivers and discuss their on-route behaviour, as well as any personal issues such as leave, off weekends etc. Check the drivers paperwork against the loads to ensure its accuracy Coordinate with the Debtors Department to submit all paperwork for invoicing to our clients Skills Requirements: Understand and intemperate large amounts of data Clear and efficient communication skills Problem solving and critical thinking Quick and effective decision making Requirements: Minimum of 2 years experience in the transport sector, refrigerated transport experience will be advantages Degree or qualification is advantages Code 8 Drivers License Environment: Friendly and close-knit team Kitchen Facilities Off-street Parking Salaries are based on a Total Cost to Company model and includes: Retirement Annuity Group Life Cover 15 days paid annual leave, increasing to 20 days with length of service Parental Leave If you are an agile problem-solver, that enjoys a challenges, we need to chat!
