Responsibilities:

Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety precautions and compliance with electrical codes. Inspect systems to identify hazards, defects, and necessary repairs. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot electrical issues, and install, maintain, and repair electrical systems. Problem Solving: Identify root causes of issues and develop logical solutions. Advise management on equipment safety and operational risks. Operational Support: Support production departments, perform physically demanding tasks, and ensure electrical systems operate efficiently. Leadership and Training: Direct and train apprentices and other workers. Respond quickly to emergencies and provide solutions. Project Work: Work on electrical projects as required, including wiring machines and panels, and implementing modifications as instructed. Flexibility: Be available for shifts, standby, overtime, and call-outs, ensuring effective teamwork and adherence to instructions.

Requirements:

Certification: Red Seal – Relevant trade certificate. Education: Minimum Grade 10; Grade 12 preferred. Must be able to read and write. Experience: Minimum 3 years in the relevant field. Skills: Organised, neat, problem-solving, innovative, analytical thinker with strong planning, time management, and decision-making abilities. Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of machines and tools, ability to work at heights, and understanding of risk management. Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability.
