Job Summary
Our client, a leading company dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment, is seeking a dedicated and experienced HR and Payroll Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to HR practices and drive organisational success. Key
Responsibilities:
HR Consultancy: Collaborate with department managers to understand and implement HR policies, procedures, job descriptions, KPIs, disciplinary actions, appointments, and probation follow-ups, with monthly meetings. Equality and Diversity: Promote equality and diversity as part of the organisational culture. Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage staff recruitment, schedule interviews, follow up on references, and complete necessary documentation for new hires, ensuring they have the correct tools and equipment. Policy Development and Compliance: Develop and enforce policies on working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and absence management, ensuring compliance with the Employment Equity Act. Payroll and Record Management: Administer payroll, maintain accurate employee records, manage staff files, and compile reports on personnel data such as hires, transfers, leave, performance, and absenteeism rates. Grievance and Disciplinary Management: Handle grievances, implement disciplinary procedures, conduct exit interviews, and assist in union negotiations and shop steward meetings. Training and Development: Collaborate with department heads to set up a training matrix, keep records of staff training and studies, and work towards a fully functional time and attendance system. Office Management: Manage the office environment, including purchases, stationery, events, general upkeep, and ensure a safe work environment. Reporting and Documentation: Manage Injury on Duty documentation, ensure daily reports from the Security Surveillance Systems Coordinator are updated and distributed, and report any unlawful activities.
Requirements:
Education: HR degree or diploma. Skills: Excellent people skills, good communication skills, business awareness, and commercial focus. Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills. Legal Knowledge: Ability to analyze, interpret, and explain the legal framework regulating employment. Negotiation Skills: Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Integrity: High level of integrity and approachability. Employment Equity Act: Strong understanding of the Employment Equity Act. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Office, Payroll, Time and Attendance systems, specifically PaySpace and ERS Bio.
