Key Responsibilities Financial Record Keeping: Finance is responsible for maintaining precise and organized financial records. They record and categorize financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities. This role requires strong attention to detail and proficiency in accounting software. Financial Reporting: Finance prepares various financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. These reports provide a clear overview of an organization’s financial health and are essential for stakeholders, including management, investors, and regulatory authorities. Budgeting & Forecasting: Finance plays a key role in budgeting and forecasting. They collaborate with management to create budgets, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for financial improvements. Accurate budgeting helps organizations allocate resources effectively. Tax Compliance: Finance ensures that organizations comply with tax laws and regulations. They calculate and prepare tax returns, submitting them to relevant authorities. Staying updated on changing tax laws is essential to minimize tax liabilities within the bounds of the law. Auditing: Finance evaluates an organization’s internal controls and processes for accuracy and fairness. Finance is also responsible for managing the external auditors and ensuring audited financial statements are compiled and required according to company standards. Financial Analysis: Finance analyzes financial data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. They provide insights to management for informed decision-making regarding investments, cost reductions, and revenue enhancement strategies. Risk Management: Finance assists in identifying and managing financial risks. They assess potential risks related to investments, debt, and other financial activities and recommend strategies to mitigate these risks. Communication: Finance must possess strong communication skills to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. They often collaborate with other departments, management, and external partners to achieve financial objectives. Minimum Experience & Requirements Matric Certificate minimum – tertiary degree/diploma in Finance would be preferred 2 to 4 years minimum experience in a senior financial role, preferably in luxury hospitality or timeshare environment, with a solid track record As the Financial Manager, your previous experience includes, but is not limited to supervising a finance team, whereas a self-driven individual you require very little financial supervision. You should be commercially astute with strong leadership qualities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, financial literacy, effective communication, leadership, and the ability to manage budgets and costs effectively, while also understanding industry-specific regulations and compliance Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with Advanced Level Excel skills Proficiency in SAGE ONE or similar Accounting Software Good working knowledge / understanding of CIMSO system – would be a plus Proficiency in Sage Payroll Professional or PaySpace would be beneficial Valid RSA ID Market related Salary package & company benefits.
