Job Description:
As Business Development Manager, youll take ownership of the full sales cycle from strategic lead generation and client onboarding to long-term retention and revenue optimisation. Youll manage a sales team, ensuring consistent delivery against acquisition and retention goals, while promoting best practices in client engagement and performance management.
Your daily adventures include:
- Leading and mentoring a high-performing sales team, fostering accountability and excellence.
- Driving acquisition of new clients, achieving an annual revenue target of R250 million across a rolling 12-month period.
- Maintaining a minimum 75% retention rate of all owned accounts, ensuring long-term client success.
- Recruiting, training, and managing at least two sales executives, maintaining an optimum team size of three.
- Managing the entire sales pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring all interactions and updates are accurately recorded.
- Collaborating with Marketing to optimise lead generation and conversion efforts.
- Representing the company at key industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
- Partnering with leadership to refine sales strategy, incentive structures, and performance metrics.
- Upholding the company’s service standards through proactive communication and exceptional customer care.
Requirements
- 5+ years of sales or business development experience, preferably in fintech, travel, or payments.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a high-performance environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or equivalent CRM systems.
- Commercial acumen and analytical thinking, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A self-starter attitude and the ability to thrive in a hybrid working environment.
