About the Role
A leading manufacturing company in the digital inks and packaging sector is seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to drive ISO-aligned quality, safety, and environmental standards across their operations in Ottery, Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) processes and procedures
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on processes and finished products
- Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor, analyse, and report on quality performance data
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with standards
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues
- Develop and maintain HSE policies and procedures in line with ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses across the facility
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Drive safety training, awareness programmes, and emergency preparedness
- Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safety protocols on-site
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain records, permits, and licenses related to safety and facilities
Requirements
- Degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Professional HSE certifications (e.g., SAMTRAC or NEBOSH)
- Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong experience in EHS (essential)
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and implementation thereof
- Experience in SOP development and process improvement
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and drive initiatives
