Job Summary

The ideal candidate will reside in Cape Town and be a qualified Diesel Mechanic with at least 5 years experience. Our client would prefer someone who has worked on Volvo and Scania busses, as this is what the fleet is made up of. Outline of responsibilities: Ensure regular inspection of vehicles – fleet consists of 350 busses. Coordinate the maintenance activities associated with the fleet Monitor work in progress and the completion of specialised service tasks Monitor activities associated with the mechanical maintenenance and repair of all passenger, light and heavy commercial vehicles Fault diagnoses, root cause analysis, monitoring the work quality and performance outputs Attending to routine investigations and general admin recording requirements contributing to the accomplishment of the City`s objectives Check ISO compliance Check incident and accident history Follow up on claims and defects Monitoring fleet use, misuse and abuse Accident investigations and insurance claims
