Cape Town City Centre: International Imports and Customs Logistics Administrator – Technology related business

Job Description

The role’s focus is to support the international movement, storage, distribution and administration of products for our client, to ultimately ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location, on time and at the best cost. Responsible for the flow and management of supply chain documentation. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance customer service, increase sales & efficiency and the overall profitability of the business. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: Person Specification: Meticulous and highly organised. Able to complete tasks accurately, systematically and within rigid timelines. Applies logic and commercial reason to decision making. Able to manage competing priorities to commercial effect. Self-motivated, displays resilience and persistence. Able to work independently and accepts responsibility for own actions and the achievement of intended outcomes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Effective in a team-based environment and in support of team objectives. Communicates information effectively in a friendly and supportive manner. Available to work on a full-time when required. Qualification, Skills and Experience required: Grade 12 qualification supported by at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role/ Warehousing/ Stock Control. A qualification in International Freight Management/ Transport Economics or Supply Chain Management would be a distinct advantage. Understanding of international import supply chain management. Knowledge of domestic warehousing and courier operations. Strong administrative skills. Good numerical skills. Demonstrated commercial acumen. Working knowledge of CRM and ERP system – MS Business Central would be an added advantage. Good written and spoken skills in English. High degree of professionalism. Intermediate skills in Excel and SharePoint. Limits of Authority: Acts under direction from the Supply Chain Manager and accepts functional direction from the Logistics Coordinator. All other actions and decisions must be in accordance with company policies and procedures and those of their customers, suppliers, vendors, and relevant regulatory authorities. Reports to: Supply Chain Manager (SCM) Key results Area: Support the movement and storage of international inbound shipments Domestic distribution of stock Administration Assist the flow and management of supply chain documentation, processes, and the deliverables of logistics partners and vendors Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance customer service, increase sales & efficiency and the overall profitability of the business
