Summary of job: The appointed member to: Support the Deployment Manager regards basic aviation safety at the deployment facilities i.e TFDC hangar and flight line area. Actions includes: Report and keep record of any safety hazards that may occur during aircraft and vehicle ground operations; Report and keep record of any safety hazards that may occur during aircraft flight operations; Brief flight and ground crew during flight briefing and debriefings regards any unsafe or hazardous situations encountered. 2. Assist the External Pilot regards safety aspects at the remote station during flight operations and must remain in contact with the Deployment / Operational Manager and Air Traffic Controller to be able to report any imminent hazardous situations that may effect the flight operation in progress. 3. Implement aviation safety procedures as required by the Deployment Manager / Operational Manager. Reason for new position: To support the Deployment Manager / Operations Manager to assist / ensure flight and ground crew to operate in a safe environment Key responsibilities / main job duties: The Safety Officer is responsible to: Identify and report safety risks to be addressed by the different musterings Enhance a culture of aviation safety amongst all members Implement safety procedures as required by the Deployment Manager / Operational Manager To provide feedback to Deployment Manager regards progress implementation of safety actions Candidate requirements: Type of qualification : Grade 12 Years of experience required: None Professional license(s) required : Radio licensce (restricted or general) Is the person required to have their own transport: No Proficiency in certain applications/computer programmes: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel basic skills) Sound knowledge of: Aviation Safety, Rules of the Air Non-negotiable skills: Aviation Radio License (restricted or general) and actively involved in aviation activities.
