About the Role

Karen Tupper Recruitment is seeking an experienced Reservationist to join our client’s hotel group in Cape Town. As a key member of the front office team, you will be responsible for managing individual accommodation reservations with efficiency and precision, ensuring each guest’s stay begins with a seamless booking experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage individual accommodation reservation enquiries via phone, email, and online booking systems
  • Capture bookings accurately in the hotel reservation system and maintain up-to-date records
  • Process payments, deposits, and issue confirmations in line with hotel policy
  • Handle modifications, cancellations, and special requests with efficiency
  • Provide personalised recommendations to enhance guest stays (e.g., upgrades, packages, tours)
  • Liaise with front office, housekeeping, and F&B to ensure guest requirements are communicated clearly
  • Maximise occupancy by upselling available rooms and promotions
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on reservations activity, occupancy, and revenues
  • Monitor and respond to online reviews or reservation queries when required
  • Support with group reservations and tour operator bookings when necessary

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in hotel reservations (4* or 5* property)
  • Working experience on Opera PMS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong guest relations skills with a professional demeanor
