Job Summary

STOREMAN – SA STEELWORKS AIRPORT INDUSTRIA – CAPE TOWN SA Steelworks has a vacancy for a reliable, attentive to detail and process-driven individual to join the Stores department. The successful candidate should have sufficient understanding and experience of all administrative procedures and processes required in order to ensure the smooth operational running of the department. Duties and responsibilities include: Ensure all daily Store tasks are completed on time Process daily stock orders Complete Inventory cycle counts on stock items Conduct inventory stock take when required Raise any cycle count variances with manager Offloading of stock deliveries by suppliers Checking of deliveries against delivery notes Receipting of deliveries Maintain minimum and maximum stock quantities Adhere to Health and Safety regulations General Housekeeping Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria: Grade 12 preferably with Mathematics or Accountancy Relevant Qualification or Certification is preferred (Stores, Technical, Purchasing etc.) At least 5-8 years’ experience in a similar position Computer proficiency; packages required : MS Office with Excel and Inventory Management Ability to work under pressure without supervision Be prepared to work after-hours, overtime including weekends Forklift licence is an advantage Qualifying Attributes Good communication skills both written and verbal Strong attention to detail and accuracy Prepared to work overtime when required Ability to multi-task and manage a demanding workload in a pressurised environment Ability to effectively communicate with people on all levels Be self-motivated and results driven Disciplined in following procedures when executing tasks Physically mobile and energetic Planning, decision making and analytical skills Be assertive and have a mature approach Be able to work both independently and in a team Good time management skills High work standards Ability to follow rules Be organised and keep their work area neat and tidy Logical and detail orientated methodologies Commitment to a strong business ethic and integrity Attention to detail Deadline driven Organizational skills Other Information: Job title: Storeman Reporting to: Group Stores Manager & Stores Coordinator Job type: Permanent position Benefits include · 50% contribution toward Hospital plan – Discovery Health · Provident fund · Life cover · Funeral cover · 15 x paid leave days per annum · Long service leave after five years of employment Standard hours 07h30–17h00: Monday – Thursday 07h30–16h00: Friday May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements Please note that the successful candidate will receive a formal, written offer of employment after all applicable pre-employment checks have been completed. Job Summary

Storeman Senority Level: Mid Career (4 – 6 yrs exp) Type: Contractor Region: Western Cape Key Duties & Responsibilities Inventory & Stock Control Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, tools, and equipment. Issue parts and consumables to technicians using job cards or work orders. Conduct stock counts (cycle counts and full inventory audits). Update CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Warehouse & Logistics Organize and maintain storage areas (bins, shelves, hazardous material zones). Ensure correct labeling, barcoding, and FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation. Prepare deliveries and dispatches (packing slips, waybills, customs docs if needed). Safety & Compliance Follow OHS Act and warehouse safety protocols (PPE, chemical handling, fire safety). Maintain MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for hazardous materials. Report damaged stock, shortages, or discrepancies. Documentation & Reporting Process GRVs (Goods Received Vouchers) and invoices. Generate stock reports (min/max levels, obsolete stock, reorder points). Assist with procurement requests when stock is low. Required Qualifications & Skills Mandatory Certifications & Training Matric (Grade 12) Required Forklift License (if operating forklifts) Hazardous Materials Handling (if dealing with chemicals, fuels, etc.) Preferred Certifications Supply Chain/Stores Management (NQF Level 4 or higher) SAMTRAC (Safety Management Training Advantageous) Basic Computer Skills (MS Excel, ERP/CMMS systems) Experience 2 years in industrial stores (oil & gas, mining, construction, or manufacturing) Experience with: Tool & equipment management Spare parts inventory (mechanical/electrical) Warehouse best practices (5S, Lean principles)
