Job Summary

PBT Group has a position available for a Systems Administrator at their head office in Cape Town. Responsibilities will include managing and supporting business critical systems, assisting IT Manager with annual IT Audits and policies. Ensuring end users are always operational in the office or remotely and supporting business applications and new technologies and adopting a security aware mindset.

Duties:

Implement and manage network infrastructure. Infrastructure maintenance of servers and networks Troubleshooting technical issues and managing problems. Manage VPN and remote Connections (PPTP VPN, RDP) 2nd line incident support and managing ticket system (Manage Engine Service desk plus) Managing and supporting various software’s which are in use such as Sage, Manage Engine Service desk etc. Supporting of Cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP) Ensuring backups and environment replications are successful and regularly tested. Monitor VMWare clusters Vulnerability management and patching of systems where applicable. Willingness to upskill where needed, and keeping current with new technologies and trends in the industry for continuous improvement and cost saving. Maintain Unifi WiFi network Improve on and implement BDP/DR procedures Managing and maintaining DNS Servers and public records Collection of hardware and software from suppliers as needed. Documentation of systems and infrastructure. Assisting with general neatness of the office IT environment. Manage new projects and implementations of network/server infrastructure. Skills / Experience: Experience in installing, upgrading, supporting and maintaining Windows based operating systems. Manage and Support Microsoft 365 environment and services such as Office, Teams, Exchange, Security etc. Must be efficient in Vmware hypervisor and vCenter installation and management. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows servers (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) Maintain On-premises active directory and Entra ID objects. Experience working with Microsoft Intune policies (MDM/MAM) Managing and installing SSL certificates Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL Server databases including Azure SQL. Work with vendors to troubleshoot network issues (IPSec Tunnels, VPNs) Preferred product installation and configuration knowledge within the following product sets: Microsoft Office 365, Windows Client/Server and Vmware, Sage Knowledge of virus and malware removal. Knowledge of implementing archiving and backup solutions for Vmware using Veeam Backup & Replication. Knowledge of server infrastructure hardware. Strong troubleshooting ability and results focused approach. Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Self-starter who works well independently and in teams.
