About the Role
A leading IT Services and Solutions company in Johannesburg is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar financial role, with relevant qualifications, and a proven track record in financial administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including the processing of supplier invoices and customer billings.
- Perform regular reconciliation of bank statements to ensure all transactions are accounted for and correctly allocated.
- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including following up on outstanding collections.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and ensure all financial documentation complies with South African regulatory standards.
- Assist in preparing the books up to the trial balance stage for month-end and year-end reporting.
- Verify and process staff expense claims and maintain a clear audit trail for company spending.
- Maintain an organized digital and physical filing system for all financial records and support the broader finance team during audits.
- Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger by performing routine journals and adjustments.
