Who we are looking for: We are seeking an energetic and strategic Community Lead who can build, nurture, and grow a vibrant community of learners, parents, and staff. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, customer success, and community building, with experience in community or event management, preferably in education or youth-focused sectors.
Key responsibilities:

Community strategy and planning: Develop and implement the community engagement strategy for learners, parents, and staff; create a holistic event calendar to build affinity and retention; design grade-specific initiatives, such as subject choice support.

Learner, parent, and staff engagement: Enhance parent and learner communications and engagement; manage online social media communities to promote positive engagement; design and deliver a staff engagement strategy; develop and enhance learner recognition.

Event and project management: Plan, promote, and oversee a wide range of online and in-person events, including supplier coordination, event communication, attendance management, and post-event feedback collection.
What will you do:
- Manage and engage with the community on platforms like Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and others
- Build and maintain relationships with parents, learners and staff through active community management
- Monitor community interactions, ensuring conversations remain respectful, relevant and aligned with our values
- Act as the primary point of contact for community inquiries, addressing concerns and feedback promptly and professionally
- Identify and foster opportunities for meaningful engagement, increasing participation and strengthening community ties
- Proactively maintain a positive online presence, staying responsive and available regularly
- Ensure all interactions reflect the commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for all members
What will you need:

Experience in community management, event management or customer experience, ideally in education or youth-focused sectors.

Strong project management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Digital marketing experience, particularly in social media management.

Hands-on experience using CRM and communication tools (e.g., HubSpot, WhatsApp Business).

Ability to work with data to measure success and guide community development.

Passion for youth development, customer success, and community building.
Desirable:
-
Prior experience working in an online school, university, or EdTech company.
-
Knowledge of the South African education system (IEB, CAPS).

Experience developing student leadership or peer-support programs.
