Overview:
Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking to hire a Debt Collections Agent to join their team in Cape Town. This role is central to maintaining customer relationships and supporting repayment success through effective communication and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contact clients via phone or written channels to arrange payment on overdue accounts.
- Negotiate practical, sustainable repayment plans aligned with internal policies.
- Accurately update client records, payment commitments, and progress notes.
- Ensure client contact details and documentation are current and complete.
- Comply with relevant legislation and regulations, including NCR requirements.
- Build positive rapport with clients to encourage regular repayments.
- Investigate billing concerns and resolve queries to prevent further arrears.
- Use tracing tools to locate and communicate with hard-to-reach customers.
- Handle objections and complaints professionally, maintaining service excellence.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and provide status updates.
- Submit reports on delinquent accounts and recovery performance.
- Consistently meet performance KPIs and collection targets.
Core Competencies & Skills:
- Strong communication skills (multilingual abilities are an advantage).
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Confident in handling sensitive financial discussions.
- Knowledge of the National Credit Act and debt recovery protocols.
- Ability to build trust and gather accurate insights from clients.
- Attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
- Goal-oriented, resilient, and able to work independently in a target-driven setting.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Matric / Grade 12
- Experience: 24 years in a debt collections role
- Additional:
- Clear criminal record
- Knowledge of credit bureau processes and collection legislation is an advantage
