Job Description
Location: Offshore (Rotations between offshore sites and home)
Rotations: 3 months away, 2 weeks at home.
Job Purpose:
The Engine Service Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of diesel engines and related systems on offshore vessels. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of engine operations, troubleshooting, and the ability to carry out rebuilds and repairs in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires a dedicated, hands-on approach with a strong focus on operational uptime and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:

Engine Maintenance & Repair:
- Conduct regular and emergency maintenance on various engine types, including but not limited to CAT, Cummins, MAN, and others.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot engine faults and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Overhaul and rebuild engines to restore full functionality and performance.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks to ensure engine longevity and operational efficiency.

System Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor engine performance using diagnostic tools, systems, and manual checks.
- Investigate engine-related issues, identify the root cause, and develop effective solutions.

Technical Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and performance assessments.
- Generate technical reports on engine performance, detailing findings and recommendations for improvements or repairs.

Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to offshore safety protocols and regulatory requirements for equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and best practices.

Collaboration & Training:
- Collaborate with the offshore crew, technical teams, and senior engineers to ensure smooth engine operations.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers or technicians in engine service and maintenance procedures.
- Provide training on engine maintenance best practices, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.

Travel & Rotations:
- Be available for offshore assignments as part of a rotational schedule (3 months away, 2 weeks home).
- Travel internationally and work in various challenging offshore environments.
Requirements:

Experience:
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul, specifically for CAT, Cummins, MAN, or similar large industrial engines.
- Experience working on offshore platforms, vessels, or in a similar challenging environment is preferred.

Education:
- Formal education or certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Specialized training in engine service, maintenance, or repair would be beneficial.

Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, especially in engine diagnostics and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to document work clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a remote offshore environment.

Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
- Engine-specific training certifications (e.g., MAN, CAT, Cummins, etc.).
- Marine Engineering Certification (for marine-related roles).
