About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team at TradeOn’s Head Office in Cape Town. As part of our No. 1 Fast Food brand in South Africa, we offer a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects while developing your skills in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Full financial function of multiple statutory entities
- Preparation of consolidated Management Accounts in line with the deadlines on the financial calendar (accurate and in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements)
- Cashflow reporting and forecasting
- Preparing consolidated Statement of Financial Position with its various audit files
- Ensuring accuracy of journal capturing
- Updating income tax and deferred tax calculation
- Managing accuracy of fixed asset register on a rolling basis
- Collating various financial reports to be used in Financial Management of the business
- Monthly reporting to executive committee
- Analyzing financial results of individual business units / cost centres against budgeted figures. Investigation and corroboration of variances
- Reconciliation & submission of VAT and PAYE returns
- Liaising with SARS/ tax practitioner on all tax-related issues
- Responsible for year-end audit by External Auditors
- Responsible for Creditors reconciliations and payments
- Reviewing of Cash cycle & Bank recons
- Liaising with Bank on financing and banking-related issues
- Liaising with Franchisor
- Coordination and planning of the annual budget process
- Ad hoc tasks to be received from CFO
- Managing team of >10 employees
- Managing three member Creditors Team
- Managing reporting deadlines
- Providing leadership and structure
- Coaching and mentoring the team as well as individual personnel
- Performance evaluation and management of finance team members
Requirements
- Minimum B Comm degree or equivalent
- Completed Articles (SAICA/SAIPA) will be advantageous
- Technical accounting knowledge (IFRS)
- GAAP experience advantageous
- Experience working with Evolution and/or other accounting package
- Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
- Analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines
- Pro-active personality
- Problem solving abilities
- Ability to work in a close-knit team
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proven Leadership experience
- Fluent in English
Qualifications
