About the Role:

Opportunity available for a Loading Supervisor & Driver for a fruit export company with their Head Office based in Observatory, Cape Town.

3 5 years experience as a Loading Supervisor and Driver

Valid Drivers License

Ensure containers are loaded at farms and depots timeously and with the correct fruit spec

Supervise and coordinate off-pack loadings and staff required

Take photos of fruit, loaded pallets, container, seal, temptale etc at each loading

Liaise with Logistics, Procurement and transporters to keep abreast of loading program and its changes and plan own transport accordingly , including the transport of the loading team to Farms and Packhouses when necessary.

Liaise with transporters and truck drivers on movements and whereabouts of transport to ensure timeous loading, reporting any discrepancies and advising Logistics of timing of completed loads and planned arrivals at port.

Check quality of fruit on behalf of procurement agent

Collect information on competitors activities at various cold stores

Prepare vehicle by conducting operator maintenance

Keep vehicle clean and presentable inside and outside

Ensure vehicle and driver licenses are up-to-date and valid

Observe safety and traffic rules at all times

Plan route and requirements by studying schedule or ad-hoc requests by the office

Transport the Managing Director and guests

Fulfil special requests for the office by picking up and delivering items as directed and running errands

Maintain passenger confidence by keeping information strictly confidential

Report any accident or traffic violation to superior within 36 hours

Be liable for any traffic fines incurred while driving a company vehicle

Remain on standby duty if and when required

Any other tasks as assigned
