About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Cashier to join their Goodwood store team. As a key member of our retail operation, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate transactions and maintaining a safe and secure cash handling environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customer service at point of sale while adhering to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures.
- Record customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system according to company policies and standard operating procedures, with zero tolerance toward inaccuracies and elimination of fraud risk.
- Adhere to the customer turnover hourly rate and be aware of current sales and promotions.
- Ensure colleagues and customers are not exposed to any risk.
- Carry out and manage 5-star communication principles.
- Process all purchases, receive and process all payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, other forms of payments) accepted by Dis-Chem.
- Handle daily takings confidentially and only discuss with management.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric A minimum
- Minimum of 3 years experience in cashier/till operations
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office
- Sound numerical skills
- Strong command of the English language
