About the Role
RPO Recruitment is seeking a skilled Civil Surveyor to join their client’s team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will support the delivery of major infrastructure projects, including large-diameter pipelines, concrete structures, roads, and municipal services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct setting out for civil construction works, including pipelines, roads, bridges, and reservoirs
- Establish and maintain survey control networks
- Perform detail surveys for construction and as-built purposes
- Verify line and level for earthworks, services, and structural elements
- Monitor construction accuracy and tolerances
- Prepare survey reports, drawings, and as-built documentation
- Liaise with engineers, site management, and subcontractors
- Ensure survey equipment is calibrated and maintained
- Adhere to site safety and quality requirements
Requirements
National Diploma in Surveying or similar ±5 years experience as a Civil Surveyor on infrastructure projects
Registration with a professional body (e.g. PLATO) advantageous
Proven experience with large-diameter pipelines, concrete structures (bridges and reservoirs), roads, and municipal services
Proficiency in modern surveying instruments (Total Station, GPS, Digital Levels)
Experience with survey software (e.g., Civil 3D or similar)
Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
Ability to work independently on site
