Job Description

Description A well established 4* hotel is in search of a dynamic Conference & Events Specialist who is an inspiring, empowering and results orientated leader with a passion for service excellence whilst maintaining standards exceeding departmental goals. Key responsibilities will include: • Facilitate the communication and implementation of deliverables and forecasted events and business. • Consolidate and track timelines for various events, in consultation with various operational teams. • Review and manage the processing of quotes, contracts, and function sheets to ensure quality standards. • Assess, and manage venue inventory alongside the HOD and Operations team to evaluate event business and maximize revenues. • Managing attention to detail, and meeting guest expectations through a hands-on approach. • Creating event proposals which fit client requirements and presenting proposals within a 12 – 24-hour turnaround time. • Demonstrating to client’s a strong knowledge of hotel venues, facilities, and additional offerings • Issuing invoices and follow up on payments prior to the arrival of the clients. • Hosting site inspections and creating sales opportunities for future events during client engagements. Requirements: • Matric • A relevant tertiary qualification from a recognised South African or International Educational Institution would be advantageous. • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy, high demand environment. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Highest standards of ethical conduct. • Collaborative approach to teamwork. • Growth mindset in identifying ways to improve systems and processes. • Subscribes to the Hotel values, service & leadership ethic. • Ability to work independently.
