Hire Resolve’s client, who is in the Mining Industry, is seeking the expertise of a Procurement Clerk to join their team in Gauteng. The Procurement Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services for the mining industry. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, delivery receipts, and contracts.
  • Assist in identifying potential suppliers, obtaining quotes, negotiating prices, and placing purchase orders.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local and international regulations related to procurement.
  • Resolve any purchasing discrepancies and work closely with other departments to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Assist in inventory management and tracking of supplies to ensure optimal levels are maintained.
  • Provide support to the procurement team in managing the sourcing process and analyzing market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare reports on procurement activities and trends for management review.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a procurement clerk in the mining industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of mining industry regulations and practices is a plus.
  • A diploma or degree in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
