Position Summary: The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of people management within the Hotel. As a key member of the Executive Committee, this role partners closely with the General Manager to shape and deliver a people strategy that supports the hotel’s transformation into Cape Town’s most loved luxury destination. This role oversees the full HR function — including recruitment and retention, performance management, training and development, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, labour relations, employment equity, B-BBEE, wellness, and compliance. The Director ensures that all team members are empowered, valued, and inspired to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a fair, safe, and inclusive workplace. Qualifications & Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management , Industrial Psychology , or Organisational Psychology (essential) Certification in Labour Relations and/or Health & Safety Management (advantageous) Experience & Competencies: Minimum 8–10 years’ HR experience , with at least 5 years in a senior management capacity Proven experience leading HR operations within a large, luxury or five-star hospitality environment Strong background in labour relations , compliance , and hospitality operations Demonstrated success in driving culture transformation , employee engagement , and leadership development Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and the ability to balance people and business priorities
