Job Description

DUTY MANAGER – FRONT OF HOUSE (HOSPITALITY) A unique, guest-focused hospitality property is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to oversee Front of House operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience across all areas of the property. This role is hands-on, guest-facing, and operational, requiring a strong hospitality all-rounder who thrives in a dynamic environment and leads by example. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Guest Services & Front of House Act as the main point of contact for guest queries, requests, and concerns Oversee smooth arrivals, departures, billing, and daily guest interactions Deliver personalised guest experiences, recommendations, and itineraries Proactively engage with guests throughout the day to ensure satisfaction Handle guest complaints professionally and efficiently Coordinate guest activities, events, and F&B requirements Operational Oversight Rotate across all Front of House areas to ensure consistent service standards Conduct regular room inspections to maintain cleanliness and quality Ensure housekeeping and cleaning guidelines are followed Assist with guest requests, cleaning, and operations when required Manage and report weekly maintenance requirements Coordinate laundry services for guests and cottages Order stock daily/weekly and manage inventory systems Leadership & Compliance Train, mentor, and support FOH and housekeeping teams Lead daily briefings in the absence of the General Manager Manage staff performance, feedback, and ongoing training needs Ensure health & safety compliance across all areas Foster strong communication between departments REQUIREMENTS Matric Hospitality / Hotel Management Diploma Valid Driver’s License EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Proven experience managing hospitality teams Strong guest relations and complaint-handling skills Solid understanding of FOH, housekeeping, and F&B operations Stock control and systems knowledge High attention to detail with a hands-on approach BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Task-driven and highly organised Strong multitasking ability Team player with a positive, professional attitude
