Job Description

Reporting to Branch Manager Position Overview: The Field Salesperson conducts sales out in the field via face-to-face interactions with both new and existing customers. Responsible for offering the best possible customer experience and providing a vast product offering with technical expertise. Responsible for field sales in the Cape Town area. Key Performance Areas: Meeting sales targets and understanding building of sales pipeline (Sales and persuasion skills) Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information. Must ensure sales targets are achieved as specified by branch/regional sales manager. Expanding the full product and service offering to current customers Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs. Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media. Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations and quotations on products and services. Create frequent reviews, visit and sales reports with sales and financial data. Update the CRM system on a daily basis Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences. Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections. Collaborate with team members to achieve better results. Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with inside sales team Minimum Skills & Knowledge Requirements: Applicant should have Grade 12 or the equivalent of National certificate NQF Level 5. Must have a strong technical background and product knowledge bearings, seals, power transmission (belts, chain, gearboxes), electrical motors, fasteners At least 3 to 5 years proven industry related sales experience Basic metrology (use of a venier-calliper, reading of technical drawing and basic measurement of components, understanding and application of conversion charts) Must have a valid drivers license and own reliable vehicle Skilled in oral and written communication. Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, ratios and percentages) in order to draw up quotations Computer skills in order to optimize the efficiency of processes within the unit. Experience on Sage or similar ERP system would be an advantage Previous experience with CRM will be an advantage Behavioural Dimensions required: Well groomed, neat and well presented. Self-starter and able to work independently Attention to detail Must have exceptional communication and negotiation skills. Must have well-developed interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with customers (especially to influence negotiations) and develop co-operative relationship with all relevant internal and external stakeholders. An emotionally resilient individual with well-development conflict handling skills in order to withstand pressure of work and to interact with sensitivity in conflict situation. Proven ability to meet and exceed sales target Good timekeeping and Day/Weekly planning.
